Wombulu Private School (WPS) is an independent tutorial and examination centre located in Nakayale Village, Ombalantu, Omusati Region, Namibia. Approved by the Ministry of Education, Innovation,Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture. We operate in accordance with the constitution of the Republic of Namibia and are governed by the Education Act 3 of 2020.
as a Social Reconstructionist, is to offer the Namibia Senior Secondary (NSSCO) upgrading program, addressing the need for improved performance among Grade 11 learners. Inspired by pragmatism in education, our teaching and learning processes are guided by the “Learn by Doing” framework.
At WPS, we believe that true learning comes from active engagement and practical application. Our “Learn by Doing” philosophy, inspired by pragmatism in education, emphasizes hands-on experience, problem-solving, and critical thinking. We strive to create a learning environment where students are not just passive recipients of information but active participants in their own education. This approach fosters a deeper understanding of concepts, develops essential skills, and prepares students for success in the real world. We encourage students to explore, experiment, and learn from their experiences, empowering them to become lifelong learners and innovative thinkers.

Lessons and Assessment (2025)
* Classes commence on February 3rd, 2025. February payment is required to start classes.
* Timetable: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:30 (Attendance is mandatory).
* Dress Code: Red WPS golf t-shirt, plain black trousers or jeans, and closed-toe black shoes. A plain black jacket or jersey may be worn in winter.
* Fridays: Compulsory tests.
* Internal Examinations: June and September (to prepare for NSSCO).
* Annual Prize-Giving Ceremony: October (based on September mock examinations and behavior).
School Rules
* No cell phones, alcohol, drugs, or weapons are allowed. Possession will result in expulsion.
* Learners who drop out during the year must pay the full tuition fee to be eligible for the final examination (NSSCO).
Extra-Curricular Activities
WPS offers a range of extra-curricular activities to enrich the student experience and promote well-rounded development. These include:
Choir: Join our school choir and develop your vocal talents, perform at school events, and participate in competitions.
Soccer: Participate in our soccer program to improve your skills, teamwork, and physical fitness.
Netball: Join our netball team and develop your skills, teamwork, and physical fitness.
HOSTEL INFORMATION (2025)
* Limited spaces available – first come, first served.
THE HOSTEL PROVIDES:
* Stoves
* Fridge
* Beds
Learners must bring their own:
* Pots
* Food
* Utensils
* Mattresses (No kettles allowed)
Hostel Rules
* Keep rooms, bathrooms, and toilets clean.
* Respect the hostel supervisor.
* No alcohol, drugs, or weapons. Possession will result in immediate expulsion.
* No fighting, bullying, or stealing.
* Compulsory study time: 19:00 – 21:30 (Keep study rooms clean).
* Sleeping time: 22:00 – 05:00 (Lights must be off).
* Learners are allowed to visit the tuck shop.
* Signing in/out: Saturdays, 07:00 – 14:00 (Uniform mandatory).
* Phone calls: Sundays only (except in emergencies).
* No escorting day learners outside the school yard.
* No entering of church rentals rooms.
* Dress appropriately inside and outside the school yard.
Semester 1
* School office opens: Thursday, 06 January
* Parents’ orientation meeting: Saturday, 01 February
* Classes commence: Monday, 03 February
* Independence Day (Hostel home weekend): Friday, 21 March
